Ginger Hot Toddy

With the cold-curing powers of a hot toddy and the undeniable benefits of ginger, this drink will basically protect you from sickness all winter long.

These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA lol but, as a proud Jamaican, I stand by the notion that tea heals all. Check out this simple recipe below. You’re welcome!

 

part 1

for 2 servings ginger tea

  • 2 cups water

  • 2 pieces of ginger, ~1 inch each, smashed

  • ¼ lemon

  1. In a medium saucepan, add water and smashed ginger. Squeeze in the quarter of a lemon and drop it in.

  2. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer, cooking for about 10 minutes.

  3. Strain to remove the solids.

part 2

for each toddy

  • 1 ½ - 2 oz Whiskey

  • Honey, to taste 

  • Ginger tea

  • Lemon slices, to garnish

  1. In your serving mug, add your whiskey and honey and stir until the honey dissolves.

  2. Then top it off with your ginger tea, garnish with a slice of lemon, and enjoy!
